The Neopor comparison tool was developed to help highlight some of the built-in sustainability attributes of BASF's accelerator product, Neopor GPS rigid thermal insulation. The launch of the construction industry supported EC3 Tool in 2019 digitized the extraction and comparison of environmental impact information (e.g. embodied carbon), from 3rd party verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPD's). Using a similar approach, additional environmental impacts beyond embodied carbon (e.g. water, energy) can also be extracted from these publicly available EPDs. Pulling data only from 3rd party verified EPD's, this tool helps the user visualize the environmental impact savings that can be achieved during building product selection when choosing Neopor.
While the descriptions, designs, data and information contained herein are presented in good faith and believed to be accurate, they are provided for guidance only. As environmental product declarations from different programs may not be comparable (refer to CAN/CSA-ISO 14025), the above comparisons are made for illustrative purposes only and are based upon all reported life cycle stages of the compared impact categories from available environmental product declarations. The complete environmental product declarations highlighted can be found at the following links: BASF Neopor, XPS, Reduced GWP XPS, PolyIso, Mineral Wool.
