The Precast Show took place in Louisville Kentucky February 26th - March 2nd. The show is a collaboration of the annual conventions of PCI(Precast, Prestressed Institute) and NPCA(National Precast Concrete Association). BASF is a member and partner to both member organizations.
BASF Booth at The Precast Show
The BASF booth was set up as a place to meet with current customers as well as showcase some new products and technologies available to the precast industry. One of the technologies on display was Neopor Graphite Enhanced rigid insulation.

Ahead of the days that the tradeshow floor was open, both PCI and NPCA held committee meetings. BASF team members from the Construction Chemicals division are active in committees where their expertise in admixtures and the chemistry of concrete can benefit producers while those from insulation divisions bring expertise to committees that utilize foam insulation.
The BIM Committee meeting
Just before the Expo floor opened on Day 1 of The Precast Show, Justin DeMarco presented Neopor to the precast industry during a session called "Innovation in Precast". It was a small number of presentations given to a full room of precast producers highlighting new materials and processes available to the industry.

The presentation covered the chemistry of Neopor and how Neopor's chemistry can be used as an advantage to Precast Wall Panel producers as well as their clients. The presentation finished with these key take away benefits of Neopor in Precast:
Project Specific: Neopor panels are available up to 40" thick and over 16ft in length.
Cost Savings: Neopor uses up to 30% less raw material than XPS for the same R-value.
Performance: Neopor's R5 per nominal inch is stable for life. No "fresh" or "aged" R-values to consider.
Availability: Buy direct from regional manufacturing sites.
Sustainability: Neopor is GREENGUARD Gold certified and demonstrates the lowest embodied co2 of any rigid insulation in North America as displayed in the EC3 Tool.
